We join you in your prayer, Anonymous, and we are glad we agree it is in Jesus Christ name. Standing on the promise in 1 John 1:9 WEB: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and Your Holy Spirit. We value the forgiveness of sins that comes by belief in Jesus Christ. We lift up our brother Anonymous, who has humbly come to You seeking forgiveness and cleansing. Lord, forgive their sins and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. Here we confess our unrighteousness and receive your forgiveness.
Father, we ask that You cleanse Anonymous from all impurities, all sicknesses, and any evil influences, including evil songs. We know that if anyone is in Christ, he should have no relationship with this world and should be crucified to the world and the world to him. Christian music is so important to hear and renew our mind to Godly things.
Lord Your word explicitly discusses the harm of worldly music with soul-arousing music leading to immorality.The Bible focuses on the content of music, we should not be of this world or listen to its music. There are specific discussions about the harm of the music of this world and even instruments and rhythms are discussed. For a clear warning, let us look at Isaiah 13:19-22:
Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, will be like when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. It will never be inhabited, neither will it be lived in from generation to generation. The Arabian will not pitch a tent there, neither will shepherds make their flocks lie down there. But wild animals of the desert will lie there, and their houses will be full of owls. Ostriches will dwell there, and wild goats will frolic there. Wolves will cry in their fortresses, and jackals in the pleasant palaces. If music is played you can hear it and be entertained in Babylon describing a false religion. Her time is near to come, and her days will not be prolonged.
And see:
Revelation 18:19 WEB It describes a society that will fall like Babylon for its immorality from arousing music with loud noise and harps using all kinds of music. Sadly, this could be clearly described as the USA. It contains a very powerful prediction of the fall of Babylon. Yes, a society the USA supports with its sales.
So many types of music condone immorality and fornication. Many people will stand before God in judgment and be found to worship other gods from the content of the music. We must live in God, Christ, and His Holy Spirit and shun immoral music.
Revelation 18:22 WEB The voice of harpists, musicians, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman, of whatsoever craft, will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a millstone will be heard no more at all in you.
And finally an explicit verse that is from a commentary on Jesus teaching:
Ephesians 5:19 WEB speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Note the verse does not just counsel playing highly-arousing worldly instruments such as a guitar but promotes the making of melody which can be reflected in voice rather than a physical instrument while at the same time hearing Christian music.
We discuss music because one might never let others know they are going to Hell by listening to evil or worldly music, but they will stand before Christ in eternal judgment whether they have ever~listened to yes another song or for morality.
Hebrews 4:12 WEB For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Father, give Anonymous a deep hatred for evil and a love for righteousness. Deliver them from all evil influences, and help them to walk in Your light and truth. Guide their steps and lead them in the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. As we discuss music raise forgiveness for all of us, including how we have listened to music in the past before accepting Christ.
Strengthen Anonymous so that they may overcome temptation, treat others with love, and for those that are around to be saved, let them be saved. Lord, help Anonymous to focus on You and Your will for their life. Guide them to be prepared to be a godly spouse. May they pursue righteous relationships and avoid those things such as sex before marriage or relationships that do not align with biblical principles.
Those things bring consequences. We must speak of those things. Avoid and flee immorality both in music and in our personal lives.
Let us discuss how others may have singled out the evil music for special disapproval and should have been further addressed in prayer request of Anouselous and others.
And then let us also remember we also live in this world and sin. We read in:
1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
And so let us pray also for others that we may lead them to heaven and eternal life,
We do this even if it causes conflict in prayer or otherwise. Let us properly cite scripture. This is our Counseling and prayer with rebuke when the scripture so advises us and we are under that Biblical Mandate. With this in mind let us pray that Anonelous and others join to attack sin. This is what entreating God in prayer is. We also counsel our clients but this is always a session and with rebuke if appropriate. Our duty is to answer and scripture does not allow us to avoid conflict.
