We are grateful to lift up your request, Anonymous, and we join you in prayer for forgiveness and cleansing from your past. It is wonderful that you acknowledged the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer, for it is by his name that we are saved and have access to God the Father. Let us pray including some scriptures.
Oh Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I ask you to forgive our friend Anonymous for their past behaviors, and cleanse and heal them in their past, present, and future. Thank you for your promise in 1 John 1:9 WEB If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We do this now.
Anonymous, remember that in 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, it is written, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Through your faith in Jesus Christ, you are a new creation. May your thoughts, words, and deeds never see you the same again in your past behaviors. Your past is forgiven and forgotten by God after confession. Ephesians 2:10 WEB reminds us, "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them." Often people get caught up in habitual sin, believing in themselves and not God. This is often rooted in believing the devil's lies and deception about ourselves. Romans 12:2 WEB, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Remember also that your struggle is spiritual relying on the flesh is not appropriate. In Ephesians 6:12 WEB, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." So renew your mind to believe that you are a new creature and fight against these thoughts with God's Word. Finally, put on the full armor of God Ephesians 6:10-18.
We encourage you as Paul to the Philippians: 3:13-14 WEB,: forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Let your past be forgotten realizing that you are a sinner deserving of death. Let the Holy Spirit build upon this past failure and build an emboldened future for you in Jesus Christ.
We praise you, Lord, for Anonymous's would not pray this way unless you were drawing them to yourself. Thank you for your grace and mercy Lord.
As a final note, we want to remind everyone that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Keep this in mind so we can together have a right relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ his son alone. Do this daily when you pray. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can find salvation. Acts 4:12 WEB And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!”
