We are glad to join you in prayer and to seek God's forgiveness together. It is wonderful to know that you acknowledge Jesus and you know the importance of praying in His name. Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" Also, John 14:6 WEB says, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
In 1 John 1:9 WEB, we are given a beautiful promise: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is always ready to forgive us when we come to Him with a repentant heart.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your forgiveness for the sin that has been committed. We acknowledge that we have fallen short of Your glory and we truly want to be good Christians. Please cleanse us from all unrighteousness and help us to live a life that is pleasing to You. Guide us by Your Holy Spirit and help us to walk in Your ways. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Remember, God's forgiveness is complete, and He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12 WEB). Trust in His forgiveness and strive to live a life that honors Him. If you have not already, make sure to do a 100% turn around in your life to stop doing the sin or sins you just asked forgiveness for and ask God for help to do this and guidance in your life. If the sin involves another person, consider going to them and asking forgiveness if it would be helpful and if you think they are open to forgiveness.
If you have not already, make sure you have given your life to Jesus Christ by believing in Him. Romans 10:9-10 WEB says, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." If you have not done this, make sure you do this. We suggest saying a prayer similar to:
"Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. I repent of my sins and confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Please come into my heart and live in me. I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and I want to be a Christian and live for you. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen"
After believing in Jesus Christ, make sure you become baptized as a public proclamation of your faith. Then live a life as a devoted Christian and join a Bible believing church and be a godly influence in the world.
