We are grateful for your honest and humble prayer, acknowledging a past mistake and seeking God's forgiveness. It's wonderful that you have come to the Lord, the giver of life, in your time of need. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9 WEB If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Let us now remember and pray for this. Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our brother who has come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Father God, we are so thankful for the healing that comes from true confession and repentance. We are so glad and grateful that our brother has turned to you and asked for forgiveness. For we know that we are all sinners saved by grace and that Your steadfast love and mercies are never ending. They are new every morning, Great is Your faithfulness.
In the name of Jesus, let us rebuke any condemnation of the enemy or an unforgiving spirit that may come and trouble our brother. Remind him to accept and receive Your gracious and loving forgiveness, to forgive himself, and to never let the enemy convince him that he cannot approach You because of his past.
Help our brother, as he continues to walk out this journey of faith, to pursue the things of You and to seek a wife if he is in search of a relationship and is not yet married. Help him to only consider a godly Christian woman who is like minded and that can be a blessing to him and he to her.
Let us remember 2 Peter 3:9 WEB, The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. Father, thank You for Your patience and for waiting for us, giving us time to turn from our wicked ways and turn to You. Father, we are so glad that You never left our brother, never stopped loving him, and never stopped pursuing a relationship with him, even during his poor choices. Father, we are grateful for Your love. We are grateful that our brother is now walking in Your light. Father, we are grateful for his humility and for his desire to follow You. Father, we ask that You continue to guide and protect him as he seeks to follow You and to live a life that is pleasing to You.
Finally, thank You for the salvation and grace that is available only through Jesus Christ. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Father, we ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
