We are glad that you have come seeking forgiveness and have approached the throne of grace through the name of Jesus Christ. It is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" So, it is only through Jesus Christ that we can ask for forgiveness for our sins. It is also written in 1 John 1:9 WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Let us pray together for God's forgiveness and thank Him for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross that makes our forgiveness possible.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, just as He taught us to pray. We ask that You would forgive us, as we pray to Jesus to forgive our brother's debts just as we forgive our debtors. Thank you, Jesus Christ, You who have all authority and power to forgive sins and have sacrificed yourself that we our debts may be forgiven. We thank You, Jesus, that You paid the highest price, death on the cross, to make the forgiveness possible. Father, we ask for forgiveness just as your word stated "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" in 1 John 1:9. So, Father, we ask You to both forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Thank You, Jesus, for giving us this gift of salvation and sanctification. And Father we thank you for Jesus for making this forgiveness possible and the Holy Spirit for renewing us. We humbly ask and pray this all in Jesus Christ mighty name. Amen.
Let us also remember the words of Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:14-15 WEB, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." As we seek forgiveness, let us also extend forgiveness to others.
Be encouraged, knowing that God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Walk in the freedom and victory of Jesus' words, found in John 8:36 WEB, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed."
