We are glad to see that you have asked and acknowledged prayer in Jesus Christ's name. This name is powerful and is the only way we have access to God as our prayer shows. A name is important to God throughout the whole Bible. We can see this in the following two scriptures.
Revelation 2:17 WEB He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who receives it.
Acts 4:12.
WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
We see in Acts 4:12. WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!. It is by Jesus' death on the cross for our sins that we are saved and receive salvation. Being saved by Jesus, being cleansed, and being born again are all the same process. It is done by Jesus and the Holy Spirit and nothing that we can do on our own. It is only by Jesus' death on the cross paying the price for our sins and resurrecting from the dead on the 3rd day that we can receive eternal life. With Jesus living in us, he is with us and accessible for us to communicate to and have a relationship with always.
Believers that are saved have Jesus inside of them with the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul mentions a mystery of godliness in 1 Timothy 3:16 WEB Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory. This is the mystery that is being performed during salvation. 2 Peter 1:3-4 says that Jesus living inside of Christians is what is meant by Christians having a godly nature.
2 Peter 1:3-4 WEB seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue, whereby he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises, that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.
We thank you for including Jesus' name, in Jesus Christ's name, and amen. Saying amen is agreeing to what is being said or prayed and asking for it to be so.
We pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus Christ's name to ask for cleansing for both us and our brother. Lord Jesus, continue the process you started by washing us first on the outside by baptism and now the lifelong cleansing process on the inside. We repent and ask your forgiveness for our sins and believe Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Help us to put to death the old sinful man every day and renew our minds. Help us to be holy as you are holy. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
