Seteleuo, we are truly heartbroken to hear about the depth of your pain and despair. We want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle, and God is always with you, even in your darkest moments. The Bible tells us that He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. We are glad to see confidence in the name of Jesus and acknowledge him in your request.
Firstly, we want to address the feelings of depression, we as Believers are not promised constant happiness or excitement, but a contentment in God. Suicidal thoughts should not be pursued because God requires us to honor his gift of life. Consider what Paul said in his letter to the Philippians Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice Philippians 4:4. This does not mean that we will always feel happy, but that we can find joy and contentment in the Lord, despite our circumstances.
It's also important to remember that life is not about finding amazing or special experiences, we are told But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you Matthew 6:33. This is the purpose and satisfaction we should be seeking. Our lives should be focused on our relationship with and serving Jesus Christ. The saying "If Jesus Christ is not Lord of all, he is not Lord at all." is true and we need to be surrendered to his will rather than seeking our own desires.
We also want to address the feelings of self-hatred. Know that you are uniquely created in God's image and have inherent value and worth. God loves you more than you can ever imagine, and He wants you to love yourself as well. Consider what the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. This includes forgiving and being kind to ourselves.
To be clear, as long as Seteleuo is a person the result will not be the same everyday. God tells us "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Jer. 29:11 We need to believe his word and rely on it more so than our feelings.
Finally, we want to encourage you to reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or Christian counselor to talk about how you're feeling. It's okay to ask for help, and there is no shame in seeking support from others. God has placed people in your life to help you through difficult times, and for Christians, even a therapist love should make them pray for and comfortably discuss a patient's spirituality as an ally in forgiveness and psychological healing and not criticize such.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up Seteleuo to you, knowing that you are close to the brokenhearted and that you hear our prayers done in Jesus name. Lord, we pray for your comfort and peace to surround him right now. We pray that you would fill some of the fleeting with your steadfast love and remind him of his worth and value in your eyes. We pray Compassionate Lord Jesus, please comfort him right now and fill his mind, body and spirit and soul with your love and your power.
We pray that you would help him to cast all anxiety, worry, and depression on you, because you care for him and you don't want them to be carried by your children. We rebuke any lies of the enemy that would try to tell him that he is not loved, not valued, or not worthy. We rebuke any spiritual influence on him that might influence self destruction. We speak love over him. We speak joy and forgiveness for himself and others over him and speak over him to love Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. We bind any every demonic spirit of depression, anxiety, and suicide. We send these spirits to the feet of Jesus Christ.
We pray that you would guide him and push him to seek help and support from others. We pray that you would give him the strength and courage to take one day at a time, trusting in your goodness and faithfulness.
We pray that you would remind him of your promise in Jeremiah 29:11, that you have plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future. We pray that he would find his hope and trust in you alone.
Thank you, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in your goodness and faithfulness.
In Jesus we pray and we override that possibly he is asking in the name of any other name and lift his prayer in Jesus name.
Amen.
And as long as he breathes and his heart beats, we know that God has a purpose for him and for his suffering and even his wounds can be used for service and to be a Glory to God.
