We are glad that you have reached out to us seeking forgiveness of sin in Jesus Christ's name. It is wonderful that you acknowledge the power of His name, for as the Scripture says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved of God and there is no other name by which we can be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB)
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing our sins and seeking your forgiveness. We acknowledge that we have fallen short of your glory and have sinned in our thoughts, words, and deeds. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB) Thank you, Father, for your unfailing love for us in Jesus Christ. Help us, O God, to turn away from our sins and to walk in your ways, seeking to live a life pleasing to you. "For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps." (1 Peter 2:21 WEB) Guide us through the Holy Spirit to become more like Jesus every day. Equip us to do the good works in His name and live in obedience through your grace and strength. In Christ's name, we pray. Amen."
As you continue your walk with Christ, remember that forgiveness is not a one-time event but a daily practice. We are called to confess our sins continually and turn away from them, trusting in God's forgiveness. Jesus tells us this in the Lord's Prayer to forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us (). Our continued believe and obedience are required to maintain our eternal salvation (Matthew 7:21; John 3:36 WEB). Continue to examine yourself to make sure your walk is growing in obedience with Him that you can continue to trust Him, for it is written in John 3:36 WEB, "One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won't see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." Notice we should believe who Jesus is but also continue to do what Jesus tells us to do.
God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Keep seeking God's will in all aspects of your life, and He will guide you through the power of the Holy Spirit.
