We understand that you're seeking God's help to be your true self and not compare yourself to others or dwell on them. This is a important aspect of the Christian walk, and we commend you for bringing this to God in prayer.
Let's look at Psalm 139:13-14 WEB:
"For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well."
God has made each of us unique, with our own talents, abilities, and personalities. When we try to be like someone else or focus too much on others, we may not be fully embracing the person God created us to be. We can celebrate the way we were made by focusing on our strengths and not comparing ourselves to others.
In Romans 12:2 WEB, it reads:
"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
Also, 2 Corinthians 10:12 WEB says this:
"For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding."
These scriptures remind us that our focus and comparing ourselves to others is contrary to God's will for us. When we compare ourselves we are not thinking of God's perfect will for ourselves or others.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ. We're so grateful that You have made each of us unique, with a specific purpose and plan for our lives. Help our brother/sister to embrace their true identity in You, to know that You have created them for Your works, prepared beforehand, that they should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10 WE). Help them to know that Jesus came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly or "more abundantly" in a literal sense (John 10:10 WEB).
Help them to stay in Your word, such that it is a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path Psalm 119:105 WEB).. . They have done well by addressing this prayer to the Father in Jesus' name. Jesus specifically said that, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me " (John 14:6 WEB), so we are confident that You will answer this prayer according to Your will. Help them to focus on You and Your plan for their life, not being distracted by what others are doing. Help them to see the value of their own unique qualities and strengths that you have given them and which other people can be blessed by.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let us encourage you, dear brother/sister, to use this knowledge and insight given to you by God to understand His specific plan for you. His perfect will for you is unique to you. He has a purpose and plan for you. It is important to be mindful of your thoughts and prayers and to consistently retain His plan and path for you.
