We are glad that you have taken the time to submit your prayer request and that you are seeking forgiveness from the Lord. It is wonderful that you are acknowledging your need for forgiveness, but we wanted to discuss the way to do this.
The Bible tells us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In 1 John 1:9. But it also says in 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So men and women have access to God by Jesus Christ and him crucified. Notice how it is Jesus or Christ or both.
It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we are saved. There is no other name by which we are saved and there is no other way to God but by Jesus Christ. But that is only the start, Jesus himself says in Matthew 7:21, Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Clearly doing the will of the father is the requirement. Those of us doing the will of the Father can expect eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. However, Matthew 7:22 warns us, Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?' Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.' Those people were cast away from Christ and eternity in hell with Satan was their final judgment. Yes they did these mighty works in his name, and he recognized this, but this was their defense in their final judgement. Amen will not save, eternal life requires faith, a relationship and eternal life given by the gift of grace and not obtained by working mighty deeds. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved! Jesus is that bridge to salvation. To confess your sin without Jesus would not allow access to the forgiveness requested. Confession of our sin is but the beginning, but recognizing our salvation comes only through Jesus. As we take the name of Jesus in prayer, thanksgiving and praise; acknowledge him. Let's take this in prayer.
Father God, you say in 1 John 1:9 WEB. If we confess our sins, you are faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins. This promise from you makes clear that upon our repentance and sincere confession, forgiveness is to follow. Doing the will of you by Jesus will make sure this forgiveness leads to the salvation by your grace for your glory by Jesus. Praise his holy name as the risen and living intercessor before your throne!
Son of God, our Lord, come into his heart as Lord and savior. Without you this person will miss this opportunity of a lifetime to be brought from death unto life eternal in the resurrection. Son of God come into the hearts of us all in an intimate personal way. Enable this in all of our hearts. Also help each one of us see the divine enablement, and active purpose of loving obedience to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But of course; not all. Only us having the washing of our hearts by grace to be come alive as righteous citizens in the Holy Kingdom. Give us compassion, and discipline for them by your wonderful divine love; In Jesus' name; by the mystery of godliness. Father give us grateful hearts by grace for Christ!
