Shabrim, we understand that you're going through a difficult time, but we want to help you see your situation through God's perspective. First, we want to commend you for including Jesus' name in your request as this is vital. It is only through the name of Jesus that we can come before the Father to ask for His will in our lives. We also want to address some concerns in your request.
It's clear that you have strong feelings for Manny, but it's important to consider God's will for finding a mate and His design for relationships. The Bible advises on the alternatives to typical dating by mentioning spouse selection and courtship. The Bible doesn't specify courtship as we describe it today but the principal can be found in such places as in Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB, God instructs husbands and wives to love and respect each other as Christ loved the church and suggest a man will leave his father and his mother, and will be joined to his wife. Then they will be one flesh. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will be joined to his wife. Then they will be one flesh. This shows God's intention for marriage and not a casual union. Also, the Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked. Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. You should know if Manny is trying to follow the biblical principal of seeking God's will for finding a mate.
Putting our happiness in another person can lead to idolatry. Colossians 3:1- 4 WEB reminds us, If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, our life, is revealed, then you will also be revealed with him in glory.
Regarding your feelings of depression and suicide, we want to remind you that God has a purpose for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 WEB says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jesus came that you may have life, and may have it abundantly. John 10:10 WEB. It's important to seek godly counsel and support during this time. It is bad enough to try to leave a father and mother but this life is a gift from God.
Pray with us:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up Shabrim. Lord, she is hurting and needs Your comfort and guidance. Help her to fix her eyes on You and not on the things of this world. If Manny is Your will for her life, then we pray that You would make a way for that to happen according to Your perfect timing and biblical principals. But if not and Manny is a distraction, or they should not consider each other, we pray Shabrim will be obedient to Your leading due to biblical principles such as mentioned above. Give her peace and a future. Surround her with godly friends and counselors who can support her during this time. You are the God and Father of all comfort. Father, 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 WEB, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ, In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Shabrim, remember that God loves you and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will guide your paths. Psalm 32:8 WEB I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will counsel you with my eye on you. If possible, seek help from a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or counselor to discuss these feelings further and have them intercede further in prayer for you.
