Recently my boyfriend bought some land. He is building a house on it etc. All of a sudden the Lord speaks to me and tells me not to go back to that land. Does things like this happen or am I losing my mind?

Let's bring this situation before the Lord together, dear anonymous. Firstly, it's crucial to discern the Lord's voice, as He does indeed speak to us, often through His Word and the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." (John 10:27 WEB)
However, let's also remember that God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB) Therefore, it's important to test the spirits to see whether they are from God. (1 John 4:1 WEB)
Regarding your boyfriend, we must consider that the Bible encourages us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB) This means that relationships should ideally be moving towards godly marriage. If this is not the trajectory, it might cause confusion and spiritual unrest.
As for the land, perhaps God has other plans for you both. It could be that He wants you to trust in Him and not in material things. Jesus taught us, "Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal." (Matthew 6:19-20 WEB)
