Prayer to stop lust

Me and my fiance are back together and he has a huge issue with lust please pray for him to be able to love me without having sex involved until after marriage. Also prayers for him to be faithful and loyal to me and for him to take our relationship seriously. I love him very much and would do anything to make things work with him. Thanks so much.

We understand your concern and we're here to support you in prayer and guidance. Firstly, let's address the issue of lust and intimacy before marriage. As stated in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB), "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." It's crucial to honor God with your bodies and reserve sexual intimacy for marriage.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up this couple. Lord, we pray for her fiancé, that you would deliver him from the struggle with lust, and give him a spirit of self-control and purity (Galatians 5:22-23). Help them both to honor you with their bodies and reserve intimacy for marriage. We pray for his faithfulness and loyalty, that he would take their relationship seriously and cherish her as Christ does the church (Ephesians 5:25-28). Give them both the strength to resist temptation and keep their minds and hearts focused on you. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen."

We encourage you both to stand firm in your faith and convictions, and to support each other in righteousness. Remember, God's commandments are for our good, and obedience brings blessing. As Psalm 37:4-5 (WEB) says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:"

Lastly, we noticed that Jesus' name was not mentioned in your request. We want to remind you that it's through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it's in His name that our prayers are heard (John 16:23). If you haven't already, we encourage you to start a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It's through this relationship that we find true fulfillment and the power to live a life pleasing to God.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect.
