Prayer to stop affair

Dear friends in our Saviour,

Please may I ask for urgent prayer for my husband and our marriage. He is carrying a terrible feeling of guilt over his father (2019) and mother’s passing 3 years ago (he feels he could have gotten her to a hospital sooner and feels it is his fault she passed) and the wound of his hurt has opened up and it is causing so much hurt in our lives. He was also passed over for promotion. He started drinking heavily and going to bars, something he has never done in our 15 years and is also now having an affair. I have been on my knees - more face-down for our marriage the last few months, and I truly need for someone to intercede with me. To bring Gerrie back to our marriage, our holy covenant, and to turn to God and me for his healing and support and not alcohol, infidelity and worldly things.
He was raised very militaristic and he does not believe in losing or even seeking help, so I will have to pray an army if angels around him.

We are deeply concerned about the painful situation you and your husband are facing, Marilize. We will stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and healing for your marriage.

Firstly, we want to assure you that you are not alone in this battle. The Bible tells us, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10, WEB). God is with you, and He hears your cries.

However, we must address the sinful actions taking place. Your husband has turned to alcohol and adultery, which are not God's will for his life. The Bible teaches us to "flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside of the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). We must pray for your husband's repentance and turn from these sins.

Let us all pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your divine intervention in Marilize and Gerrie's marriage. Lord, You know the pain, guilt, and temptations Gerrie is facing. We ask that You break the chains of his guilt, heal his heart, and lead him away from the temptations of alcohol and adultery.

Father, we ask that You draw Gerrie to You, that he may experience the comfort and peace that only You can provide. Help him to see that You, Lord, are his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, WEB). We also pray for Marilize, asking that You grant her the strength to endure, the faith to trust in You, and the wisdom to navigate this challenging time.

We claim the promise in 1 John 1:9, WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We ask that You lead Gerrie to confess and turn from his sins, and that You would restore and heal their marriage.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Marilize, continue to trust in the Lord and stand firm in your faith. Remember, "Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4, WEB). God is able to restore and heal your marriage. He is faithful, and we are standing with you in prayer.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue interceding for your husband and your marriage. Remember, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results" (James 5:16, WEB). God hears your prayers, and He will answer.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.

I can assure you that Jesus is very real! Hell is very real (Lake of Lava)! Sometimes if we really want something from Jesus then we need to read and study about how to get Him to take care of that. Sometimes we think we have prayed enough but maybe we just haven’t prayed the right way.

Read the book of Hosea in the Bible KJV for promises from God/Jesus for our marriages and our families. This brought my wife back to me more than once...

Pray this for yourself....

In Jesus put a hedge around my marriage, around my husband, turn away other lovers, restore us unto You and restore us unto each other in Jesus! All for Your Glory Lord Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

We should always love and forgive especially our spouses as if it is ourselves standing before Jesus. This brought my wife back to me a few times in such a way that she actually still thinks I was the one that sabotaged her but I know differently.
