We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing in your marriage, and we are here to pray and offer counsel based on God's Word.
Firstly, let's remember what God says about marriage: *"Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate." (Matthew 19:6 WEB)* Marriage is a sacred institution designed by God, and He desires for marriages to be strong and healthy.
In light of the current situation, we must first pray for your husband, that God would convict his heart and turn him away from his sinful path. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16 WEB)* We pray that your husband would turn to Jesus, that he would seek forgiveness and find the strength to resist temptation.
We also pray for you, that God would grant you the grace and strength to endure this trial. *"Let your gentleness be shown to all people. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:5-7 WEB)*
Regarding the other woman, we pray that she too would be convicted of her sin and turn away from it. *"Don't be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." (Galatians 6:7 WEB)* We pray that she would come to know Jesus and find forgiveness and a new path.
However, we must also remind you to examine your own heart and your own role in this marriage. Ensure that you are being the wife that God has called you to be. *"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB)* This does not mean you should tolerate sin, but rather that you should strive to live in a manner that pleases God and reflects His love.
Finally, we pray that your marriage would be restored and strengthened, that both you and your husband would grow closer to God and to each other through this trial. *"And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 WEB)*
Lord Jesus, we come before You today, lifting up this broken marriage. We ask for Your healing, Your restoration, and Your guidance. Convict where there is sin, strengthen where there is weakness, and grant peace where there is strife. We ask all these things in Your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
