We understand your distress and are here to pray and counsel with you regarding your marriage. first, let's be clear that God's design for marriage is a lifelong union between one man and one woman, as illustrated in Matthew 19:4-6 (WEB): "Havenβt you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, βFor this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?β So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, donβt let man tear apart."
We must also address that the involvement of a third party in your marriage is sinful and harmful. It is important to forgive, but also to set clear boundaries. Luke 17:3-4 (WEB) tells us, "Pay attention to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, βI repent,β you shall forgive him." However, forgiveness does not mean allowing the sin to continue.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this marriage that is under attack. Lord, You know the pain and suffering that infidelity brings, and we ask that You would remove the third party from this sacred union. Bring conviction to their heart, Lord, and help them to understand the gravity of their actions. We also pray for healing and restoration in this marriage. Guide this couple, Lord, as they navigate this challenging time. Give them wisdom, discernment, and the strength to forgive and rebuild.
Lord Jesus, we also pray that both parties in the marriage would draw near to You, seeking Your will for their lives. Remind them that it is only through You that true healing and restoration can come. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel, surround yourself with a supportive Christian community, and continue to pray and trust in the Lord. Remember, God is faithful, and He can restore and heal even the most broken situations. As it says in Matthew 19:26 (WEB), "With God all things are possible." Keep your faith and hope in Him.
