We are truly sorry to hear about the challenging situation you're facing with overwhelming debt. We want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your financial struggles. In Matthew 6:25-34, WEB, Jesus teaches us, "Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will put on. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? ...Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's trouble is enough for the day."
First, we want to encourage you to cast all your anxieties on God, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Instead of worrying, turn to God in prayer, knowing that He is faithful to provide for His children. It is also important to remember that when asking for God's provision, it should be in Jesus' name (John 14:13-14, WEB).
In addition to praying for God's provision, we advise you to be proactive in managing your debts. Seek wise counsel and consider talking to a financial advisor or a non-profit organization that specializes in helping people manage and pay off their debts. Proverbs 11:14, WEB, tells us, "Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls; but in the multitude of counselors there is victory." It is important to do everything that you can do to get your debts paid off.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this dear one who is burdened with debt. We ask, in Jesus' name, that You would provide for their needs and give them wisdom to manage their finances according to Your will. Help them to prioritize their spending, be disciplined in their budgeting, and find ways to increase their income. We also pray for their peace and rest, knowing that You are in control of their situation. We rebuke any fears, worries, and anxieties in their life. We pray that you will help them get any help that they need and that you will provide a way for them to pay these debts off.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
