We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and division your family is experiencing due to your mother's alcoholism and the enabling behaviors surrounding it. We will pray for your family, especially for your son, and for the healing of your emotional pain. Remember Jesus said:
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 WEB
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear soul who is experiencing deep emotional pain due to the divisions and hurts caused by an alcoholic mother. Lord, we know that You are the God of all comfort, and we ask that You wrap Your loving arms around her, providing her with Your peace and healing.
Lord, we pray for her son. We ask that You open his eyes to see the truth and give him the courage to stand against any enabling behavior. Help him to discern the truth and shut down any nastiness, gossip, and mischief. We pray that You will bring him to You and that You will be working in his life. We pray that You will use this situation to draw him closer to You.
Father, we also pray for the rest of the family. We ask that You give them the strength and wisdom to address this situation in a godly manner, not enabling or supporting addictions, but instead, speaking the truth in love. Help them to come together in unity, seeking Your will and Your healing power.
Lord, we pray for the mother. We ask that You intervene in her life, breaking the chains of alcoholism and bringing her to a place of repentance and restoration. We pray that You will soften her heart and help her to see the pain she has caused, leading her to seek forgiveness and reconciliation.
Father, we ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. We thank You for Your unfailing love and Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written:
"In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB
Stay strong in the Lord and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this difficult time. As much as it might be good to talk to others about this, it is always important to talk to Jesus about it also. Do not forget to talk to Jesus about it. He will help you, and He will use others to help you.
