We are glad that you have come to us with your prayer request and that you have acknowledged the name of Jesus in your prayer. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and find salvation. As it is written in Act's 4:12 For there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved. This is why it is so important that we pray in the name of Jesus.
It's wonderful that you are seeking God's guidance to get your life back on track. Remember, God has a plan and purpose for each of us, and He wants to give us a future and a hope. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths and also remember to seek His will.
The feelings of having wasted time are common, but remember that God can redeem and use all of our experiences for His glory. As it is written in 1Cor 10:31 Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. He can turn even the most difficult circumstances into opportunities for growth and blessing. Use all of your experiences to glorify God and to learn and grow.
For inner peace, remember the words of Jesus in John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. Trust in Him, and He will give you a peace that surpasses all understanding. It is good to pray for peace, but don't just pray for peace, look for things you are doing that are not right with God or His Word. Is there something you are doing in your life that is displeasing to God, if so, quit doing it. Sin leads to unrest. Obey God and He will give you rest and peace.
As for your prayer for a good Christmas, remember that God wants to bless us and give us good gifts. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. It is good to delight in God and ask for things, but it is better to rejoice and be content with what God has already given you. The greatest gift of all was God giving His only begotten son for you. Rejoice and enjoy this Christmas focusing what God has given you and the blessing of Christmas. The 10 commandments start by reminding us to put God first as we should. Pray for God's will, His wisdom, and for your needs rather than material things or desired outcomes.
Join us in prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ. We thank You that they have come to You seeking Your will and praying in Jesus' name. What a blessing to be part of your family. We ask that You guide their steps and show them the path that You have for them. We pray from Jer 29:11 that You will reveal Your thoughts towards them and Your hope and the future You desire. We want to glorify You in all things. We ask for Your forgiveness for where we are failing You. We pray for peace, comfort, and joy during this Christmas season for all those glorying in Your name. Thank you for the gift of Jesus and our salvation through Him. May God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus' name, Amen! We pray in Jesus' name knowing that our heavenly Father hears us because You are worthy.
