We understand that you're going through a difficult time, but we want to help you see this situation from a biblical perspective. First, we want to address that the request is for reconciliation with a girlfriend. As believers, we should seek God's will for our lives and strive to live by the words in Ephesians 5:3, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and 1 Corinthians 7:39. This seems more like a courtship because if marriage is not the goal then the relationship is not aligned with biblical principles.
Let us not forget the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33, But seek first God's kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
It's encouraging that you want to change and are turning to God for help. However, the focus should not just be on getting her back, but on becoming the man God wants you to be.
Firstly and most importantly, Jesus Christ is the only way to access God.
Acts 4:12
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God and to be saved.
Please, if you have never done so, believe in Jesus Christ.
So, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is going through a difficult time. Lord, we ask that You help him to seek Your will for his life first and foremost and transform him in Jesus' name.
Lord, if it is Your will, we pray for the healing of his girlfriend's heart and for their reconciliation, but only if it aligns with Your perfect plan. Help them both to seek You first and to live lives that are pleasing to You. Give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this situation in Jesus' name.
Father God we ask that you convict both individuals of any sin, especially sexual sin, in their relationship. Adultery and fornication are a sin and therefore we ask that you help them to stay sexually pure in Jesus' name.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Let us also remember the words of God in Psalm 51:10, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. As believers that should be our prayer for ourselves.
