We understand that you're seeking God's favor to restart your PhD degree and we're here to support you in prayer and guidance. Firstly, it's commendable that you've acknowledged and repented from laid-backness and pride. Remember, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. He wants us to trust in Him to direct our paths.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ to seek Your favor for my stalled PhD studies. Lord, I confess my laid-backness and pride that have hindered my progress. Please forgive me and cleanse me from these sins.
Father, we know how important the plans you have for me are, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope.
Heavenly Father, we ask You to resurrect my PhD studies. Guide me, Lord, in the path that You have laid out for me, and grant me the wisdom and strength to walk in it. Help me to find favor with the right people and open the doors that need to be opened for my career to move forward.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
