Anonymous, we are with you in spirit and in truth, lifting your situation up in prayer. We commend you for your stand against the sin of adultery, as God's word is clear that it is a grievous sin. In the book of Hebrews 13:4 WEB it says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Marriage should be honored by everyone and marriage vows kept sacred." Your husband has broken his vows with his act of adultery.
Firstly, we must address that Jesus Christ is the only way to come to God, if anyone comes to God it must be by Jesus Christ the only mediator between God and mankind. It is by His name we pray and every knee shall bow including your husband regardless of his sin. Philippians 2:10 WEB, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth," It is through a saving faith in Jesus Christ as Lord that we become partakers in the family of God.
Secondly, the bible does not explicitly say that a person must stay married to an unfaithful spouse, but
it does say that God hates divorce and forgiveness should be at the forefront of our minds. Malachi 2:16 WEB says " 'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.'" Anonymous this is clearly stated for those who have faith in God. Knowing that God hates divorce, there must be true repentance from the sin of adultery by your husband and you both must be in one accord. This will take place by true repentance from your husband. Your husbands sin values eternity and he must repent and if he chooses not to you must be willing to let him leave because your faith and commitment to God is a testimony to others. You must trust God to be your husband and provider during this time.
We pray fervently for your husband's heart, that God would grant him repentance and a brokenness over his sin. Praying that God would restore your marriage for a Godly and faithful one.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister in Christ, Anonymous. Father, we were grieved to hear of sin that's affected her family, but we also know of the certainty of your plan for her life. We ask, Lord that your full presence overshadow her and her family during this time.
Lord, we ask that You minister to her husband, convict his heart, and bring him to true repentance as every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord even at the thought of his name, Lord. May he know his God and be a father, to his children. Father, we know that no situation is out of your hand, so we ask that Your will be done in her family and for it to be restored by Jesus Christ.
If it is Your will, Lord, that this marriage be dissolved, we pray that Your kindness and goodness follow Anonymous and her children every day of their lives. That she is able to minister to the Lord and live an abundant life. Father, we ask that Your presence be upon her children and that she will not turn to sadness or disappointment, but rather embrace the joy of the Lord that is their strength.
Your plan Lord for your children is good and we as servants of Yahweh trust in your work. We pray for Anonymous's character and compassion to provide hope and grace to her children. May she find favor and love in the future if it be your will Yahweh that her heart finds happiness in a lifelong spouse. We come against sexual immorality in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and ask for this marriage to be restored or an abundant life for both our sister and her children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
