Prayer to be Forgiving

Lord Jesus,

Thank you for today. I ask Father, that we may be forgiving as you are forgiving. I pray for those in my estranged family they may be forgiving toward each other. I've seen a root of bitterness take hold of some former friends, and my parents over the years that only you can provide for them to be delivered from. Lord Jesus, I also ask that you may soften the heart of my mom. Since childhood, our relationship was not of womanly fellowship, and the battles between my parents robbed me of having a loving, secure, faithful, enjoyable, trustworthy, Godly relationship with either of them. I've been accused of preaching to my mom amongst many other issues, and the last time we spoke was in 2023, and she hung up on me. I have been forgiving toward her over the years, but her apologies have always resulted in the same behavior. I pray my mom will know the true love of Christ and what He teaches in His word for us, and not by the provision of false women teachers on television.

I believe you are the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. Jesus, I have felt the agony and pain of the results of dark false teaching, but you are the true shining Father of Lights spoken of in James 1:17. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

MelissaRae, we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's forgiveness and healing for your family. Let us come together and bring your requests before the Lord.

Firstly, we commend you for your heart of forgiveness, reflecting the very nature of God. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32 (WEB), "Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." This is our calling as believers, and we pray that this spirit of forgiveness rests upon your estranged family and former friends.

Regarding your mother, we pray that the Lord softens her heart and draws her closer to Him. It is only through His love and wisdom that true healing and restoration can occur. We pray that God will grant her a spirit of repentance and the understanding of His true love, as shown in 1 John 4:10 (WEB), "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins."

We also address the issue of false teachings. It is crucial to be discerning and seek God's truth as revealed in His word. As 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (WEB) warns, "For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts, and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables." We pray that your mother encounters the true teachings of Christ and turns away from false influences.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the precious name of Jesus, asking for forgiveness and healing in ###'s family. Soften the hearts of her family members and friends, Lord, and deliver them from any root of bitterness. We pray especially for ###'s mother, that her heart may be turned towards You, and that she may know the true love of Christ.

We rebuke any false teachings that have infiltrated her life, Lord, and pray that You surround her with Godly influences. We ask for restoration and reconciliation in their relationship, Lord, and that both ### and her mother may come to enjoy a loving, secure, and faithful bond that reflects Your divine love.

We thank You, Lord, for You are indeed the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. We trust that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we ask all these things in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Be encouraged, ###, for God is faithful and His love for you and your family is unfailing. Continue to trust in Him and seek His will in all things.
