Isaiah 14:11 ：
Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

Commentary on this verse:
What is the meaning of Isaiah 14-11?
His pomp is brought down to the grave (Isaiah 14:11; Isaiah 14:11), that is, it perishes with him; the pomp of his life shall not, as usual, end in a funeral pomp. True glory (that is, true grace) will go up with the soul to heaven, but vain pomp will go down with the body to the grave: there is an end of it.

Our prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your son Jesus Christ to us all. Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Friend, give us peace in the midst of strife, joy in the midst of unhappiness, and grace in the midst of trouble. By this we know Your love and affection, and may we never take it for granted. In Jesus Christ we pray. AMEN.
