Let us come together in prayer for your uncle, seeking God's intervention in his life. We appreciate your concern for him and your desire to see him turn away from idolatry.
Firstly, we acknowledge the falseness of idolatry worship and worshiping anything except the one true God. We do not worship the deceased or go through them to get to God. In Acts 4:12 WEB it says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!" That name is Jesus Christ.
In Exodus 20:3-5 WEB, God commands, "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, WEB, your God, am a jealous God."
Your uncle's actions are clearly against God's commandments. It is important to continue to speak the truth in love to him, reminding him of God's word and the consequences of idolatry. In 1 Corinthians 10:14 WEB, it says, "Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the uncle of ###. We ask, Lord, that You thwart all attempts of idolatry in his life. We pray, Father, we are only asking that you remove the veil from his heart and the hearts of the people in his life. Please help him to see the true light of Jesus Christ. You alone deserve all the worship, praise, and adoration. Break down the strongholds of idolatry in his life, and draw him closer to You, Lord. Give ### and his family the wisdom and courage to speak the truth in love to his uncle, that he may turn away from his sin and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We ask this in Jesus Christ Name.
We also pray for ###, that God would give him peace and patience, trusting that the Holy Spirit is at work in his uncle's life. Remember, even when people do not listen to us, the Holy Spirit can still work in their hearts. In Jude 22-23 WEB, it says, "Have mercy on some, who are yet wavering; and others save, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh."
Continue to show your uncle love and mercy, but do not partake in or endorse his idolatry. Stand firm in your faith, and trust in the power of God to change hearts.
Throughout the Bible there are many examples of God showing His power to stop idolatry and false prophets, such as the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal. We are reminded that God is a jealous God, and He will not share His glory with another. We have assurance in the power of God to intervene in your uncle's life.
Let us pray for your uncle's salvation, that he may turn from his idols and serve the one true God. We are also praying that the Lord will intervene when he attempts to worship anything other than God.
Let us also pray for your uncle and your family to be reconciled with the Lord and look past other family members to Jesus Christ.
