Prayer that I can Pray with ###

My daughter ran away last Friday. I spent the whole weekend trying to locate her. Her mother and I recently divorced due to abuse of her and cruelty toward me. My ex has fought to have 50/50 custody which I want her to have at some point but due to her conviction for child abuse and violence toward those close to her, I want my daughter to mature and grow more in Christ so she can have the strength to avoid the temptations her mom will throw at her. I prayed with her and talked about God's love for us and what Him giving His only son so that we could be forgiven really means. We talked about love, and how love will never ask you to lie, to cheat, to steal, how love will never pressure you, or make you feel guilty, love will always give you a choice and let you have your free will because God wants us to choose Him on our own. She cried the entire time we spoke and prayed. And I know she is being pressured. I told her about how God wants us to love Him above all else even our parents and we should always choose the path where we walk with God and that He always loves us whether we do good or bad and despite what we do He always wants us to come back to Him and that if we get lost He will leave His flock (His other children) to come to find us and bring us back because He loves us. Her mother and her sister are constantly pressuring her to choose her mom even though she does not have custody. I told her God will always give us a choice and hopes we follow Him. Help me to pray for her and give me a prayer that I can pray with her to remind her about what God wants for us and how Jesus's greatest commandment can carry through anything that comes our way as long as we keep Him in our hearts. I don't think she can understand that after 13 years, I know what she would be facing if she lived with her mom, even though she only hit her once. She doesn't understand that I am doing everything I can to keep her from having to endure the same abuse that her mother has inflicted upon her older brother, her sister, and her nephew. She doesn't understand that the only reason her mother has "only hit her one time" is because I haven't given her the opportunity. Pray for me that God allows me to continue to care for her and keep her away from smoking, drinking, and drugs and a life that shuns Christ. Also, give me a prayer to pray with her before school every day to keep the Lord with her.

B###, we stand with you in prayer and support during this challenging time. Let's bring your concerns before the Lord, seeking His guidance and protection for your daughter, ###.

Firstly, we acknowledge your deep concern for ###'s spiritual and physical well-being. It is commendable that you have taught her about God's love and the greatest commandment, as Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." (Mark 12:30 WEB).

Let's pray together for ###:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the challenges she is facing, the pressures she is under, and the difficult choices she has to make. We ask that Your Holy Spirit comforts her and guides her in the right path. Remind her of Your unfailing love, that even when she strays, You are always there to welcome her back with open arms, just like the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32 WEB). Give her the strength to resist temptations and to choose Your will above all else. Protect her from the influences of those who might lead her astray, and help her to understand the love and care that her father has for her. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to continue teaching ### about God's will and the importance of obeying His commandments. Remind her that God has promised, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." (James 4:7-8 WEB).

Here's a daily prayer for you to pray with ### before school:

"Dear Lord, as ### begins this day, we ask for Your divine protection over her. Help her to make wise choices, to be a light for You in her school, and to resist any form of peer pressure that goes against Your will. Fill her heart with Your love and peace, and help her to be a testimony of Your grace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We also pray for you, B###, that God gives you the strength, wisdom, and grace to continue caring for ### and keeping her away from harmful influences. Remember, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6 WEB).

Lastly, we address the issue of ###'s mother and the abuse. It is crucial to forgive, not for the abuser's sake, but for your own peace and healing. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors." (Matthew 6:12 WEB). However, forgiveness does not mean allowing ### to be put in harm's way. Continue to seek God's will and wisdom in handling this delicate situation.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
