We are glad to join you in prayer and seek God's will for your future. It is encouraging to hear that you recognize the importance of God's guidance in your life. Remember that God has a plan and purpose for each of us, as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
As a medical student seeking God's will for your specialty, consider the words of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This reminds us to fully rely on God and acknowledge Him in all our decisions.
It is also important to remember that God is interested in the well being of others and providing care to them. The calling of being a Dr. may align with this interest.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this medical student who seeks Your guidance. We thank You for the gifts and talents You have bestowed upon them, and for the desire to serve others through medicine. Lord, we ask that You reveal to them the specialty that would bring You the most glory. Give them wisdom and discernment as they make this important decision, and help them to trust in Your timing and Your ways.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
As you wait on the Lord's direction, continue to press into Him. Seek it in the Bible and pray. Spend time in His presence, and He will guide you. Remember that His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Lastly, if you have not already, consider the words in Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not accepted Jesus as your savior and you would like to, please pray that Jesus will come into your heart and guide you. Even as a Christian we need to continue to pray this to strengthen our relationship with Jesus.
We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
