Prayer: Romance

Dear Lord,

Thank You for all of the ways we can express our love for one another. Thank You for the gift of intimacy. We pray we would spend time each day considering how we can affirm each other and how we can show one another our love. We lift up our marriage to You and ask that we would intentionally increase our romance, creatively initiating physical intimacy. We pray we would prepare ourselves for one another and that we would resist excuses or reasons that keep us from being physically intimate. We pray our hearts would feel full of love and that we would be satisfied by each other. We pray our marriage honors You as we pursue each other in Jesus’ name AMEN!

Dear Lord, help us to stay pure before marriage and let us live physical intimacy only in marriage. Because that is the place where we get one in all aspects. Let us help in this area and get to know us as friends. Let us respect one another and not misuse weaknesses, but to strengthen us in the weakness. Let us support one another and do according to the way God teaches us. Lord, let us grow together in respect and love and to honor one another. There are so many words and ways to show love without hurting the Father who gives us the gift of love. True love is a treasure. So this is my prayer for both of us and I know to the core of your heart it is yours as well. To wait and to prepare for one another brings the crown in the end.

Lord, you know that I messed up in the past out of disobedience, trying to do it my way and crossed borders of intimacy before marriage that I never wanted. I always believed in the one Chosen for me. But I tried to do it my way. I know, this was not your intention for my life. And yet, I see in all this Your Hand and most of all Your amazing Love, Almighty One. You provide for both of us a new beginning. I admit, I still do fear, because I am not yet completed in love. And this is an enormous step of faith for me. But I know true love does not have to fear. This time Lord, I will not allow impurity to destroy our future marriage. If my future husband thinks differently, I would have to step back, even though this causes heartache even as I write. But true love is described in 1 Cor. 13. It is patient and much more. True love can wait until God's timing is perfect. Lord, I pray that we both agree on that. I pray that you keep this beginning relationship pure and that you put Heavenly Guards over our relationship and over our own hearts so that we do not get deceived. I pray that not only marriage will honor you, but even as we take one step after the other. Give us Your Godly Wisdom and Your Council. We need You in this! And thank you, future husband, for your instructions of the Scriptures in many creative ways. A husband is responsible for the spiritual walk of his wife. And you certainly are. I have met many people in life, many men in general due to work situations. But I have never met so much love lived and such beauty that comes from within and that displays that you are a beloved son of God. It makes me speechless. Everywhere I go, I see your love reaching out to me. I am overwhelmed. It is a fairytale. A dream to come true. So Lord, protect this beauty. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!
