We are delighted to join you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance as you navigate this friendship. It's wonderful to see you are connected with a fellow Christian. The Bible encourages us to be equally yoked and to build relationships with other believers.
Firstly, let's consider God's will for your friendship. As you grow closer, it's important to maintain purity and honor God in all aspects. Remember, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18. Sexual immorality would include fornication, pornography, and homosexuality. Ensure that your connection remains pure and focused on godly pursuits.
Regarding your feelings, it's natural to want to express them. But why not spend more time getting to know him deeply and praying? The Bible advises, "Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." 1 Peter 4:8. As you both grow in your friendship and faith, if it is God's will, he may reveal similar feelings. But if not now there is no need to rush into things, as patience and prayer should guide you with you.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is seeking Your will in her friendship. Lord, guide her steps and help her to honor You in this relationship. Give her the wisdom to discern Your will and the patience to wait on Your timing. Help her to maintain purity and to grow in her walk with You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to pray and seek God's face. Ask Him to reveal His will for this friendship. Trust God to guide your hearts, and be patient. He will make a way and order your steps in due season. Be encouraged by Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."
If he does not return your feelings, trust that God has a plan and continue to honor Him in your friendship. Remember the promises in His word, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.
Trust in His timing and His ways, for they are perfect and are to give you a future and a hope that you can trust in.
