We are glad you reached out with your prayer request, and we want you to know that we are here to support you in prayer and truth. We all are tempted to do things we should not do or don't want to do, but we have hope and help from God's Word and His Son, Jesus Christ. First, let's address that you did not mention Jesus in your prayer request. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God and can be saved from our sins. We will pray in His name as it is the only way to God and salvation from sins. You mentioned that you are both believers and we assume you both mean you are Christian believers.
Firstly, you both need to know the seriousness of sexual sin from God's Word. First Corinthians 6:18 says, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
From the context of your request, we assume you are referring to the sin of fornication, which is sexual immorality outside of marriage. God's Word is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman.
First Corinthians 7:2 says, But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.
We must always remember the hope that is promised to us.
First Corinthians 10:13 says, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
With that being said, we will pray for you both. Our Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, confessing the sin of fornication, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Forgive them and cleanse them from their sin. We ask for Your help in their lives to resist temptation and to live lives that are pleasing to You. We ask for Your help and guidance to be obedient to Your Word and to flee from sexual immorality. We ask for You to provide a way of escape when temptation comes. Guide them and help them to find a godly spouse if that is Your will. Help them to be committed to holiness and self-control. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. You said you both were believers.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.
Remember, every Christian should demonstrate their faith in Jesus by adhering to God's Word and the principles in it. In Jesus' name, we pray.
