Let us come together in prayer and counsel for this individual who seeks fitness and a closer walk with God through reading the Holy Bible. We commend this person for desiring physical and spiritual growth.
Firstly, we encourage this individual to remember that their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Exercise and proper stewardship of our bodies help prepare us for service in God's kingdom.
Now, let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this individual to You, asking that You grant them the discipline and strength to achieve their fitness goals. May they honor You in all they do, including taking care of their physical body.
Lord, we also pray that You ignite in their heart a deep hunger and thirst for Your Word. Guide them as they read the Holy Bible, revealing Yourself to them, and helping them to understand and apply Your truths in their life. As it is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Father, we ask that You draw them closer to You, by the name of Jesus Christ, and increase their faith as they spend time in Your presence. Lead them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. For it is by the name of Jesus Christ that we must be saved. And if this person has not done so, lead them to call on the name of Jesus Christ, and repent of their sins, so they may be forgiven. This is the most important part of their journey in obtaining spiritual fitness. May their life be transformed as they come to know You better.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage this individual to run the race set before them with endurance, both physically and spiritually, keeping their eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith as told in Hebrews 12:1-2.
