We are glad to join you in prayer and seek God's will for your situation. It's wonderful that you acknowledge God's goodness and seek His guidance.
Firstly, let's address the issue of sleep. In Psalm 127:2 WEB it is written, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep." This verse reminds us that God grants sleep to those He loves, and we should trust in His provision for rest.
Regarding what not to take at night or at all, we need to be mindful of what we consume, as our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." This means we should avoid anything harmful or addictive, such as sleep any drugs, or excessive alcohol, especially before sleeping.
Now, let us pray together.
Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up our brother in Christ who seeks Your guidance and a peaceful night's sleep. Lord, we ask that You grant him the wisdom to discern what to avoid, especially at night, to honor his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. We pray for a restful, God given sleep and rest. Help him to trust in Your provision and protection.
We also acknowledge and emphasize that it is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach You, Lord, as He Himself was quoted in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Remind him of the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the importance of acknowledging Him in all his ways.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Lastly, always remember to include the name of Jesus Christ in your prayers, as it is through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
