We are glad that you have come to us with your prayer request, and we appreciate your honesty. Furthermore, it is good that you acknowledged that you are a sinner and asking the Father for forgiveness. It is only by the blood of Jesus Christ that our sins can be washed away. He shed his blood for each and every one of our sins and we can be whiter than snow by his blood. It is only by the name of Jesus that we are able to go before God's throne of grace to find help in our time of need.
First, let us address the issue of masturbation. Though the Bible does not explicitly mention masturbation, it does speak clearly about lust and sexual immorality. Masturbation is often accompanied by lustful thoughts, which are sinful. Jesus said, "But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). Additionally, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we should honor God with our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother who has stumbled and fallen into sin. Lord, he acknowledges his sin and asks for Your forgiveness. We pray that You would wash away his sins by the blood of Jesus and we could stand blameless before You. Father, we ask that You would deliver him from the bondage of masturbation and lustful thoughts. Strengthen him with Your Spirit, that he may overcome this temptation. Help him to renew his mind according to Your Word, and to honor his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit.
Lord, we also pray for his life circumstances. We ask that You would open up opportunities for work, that he may provide for himself and live an abundant life. Guide him in Your will, and help him to make wise decisions. Turn his life around for the best, and let Your favor shine upon him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by these words from the Scripture: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Trust in God's forgiveness and strive to live a life pleasing to Him.
Remember, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). God will provide a way out of temptation; stay strong and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
