We are truly sorry to hear about the challenges you are facing in your marriage and employment, Michelle. Firstly, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, reflecting the union between Christ and His church WEB Ephesians 5:22-33. It is important to remember God hates divorce WEB Malachi 2:16, and that those who are married should stay married.
1 Corinthians 7:10-11, But to the married I command, not I, but the Lord, that the wife not leave her husband. (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband,) and that the husband not leave his wife.
It is clear that both you and your husband are born again Christians, which means that God is at work in both of your lives. However, being a Christian does not exempt us from trials and tribulations. In fact, we are told to expect them.
John 16:33, I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
Regarding your husband's unemployment, we encourage you to pray for him and support him as best as you can. It is important to remember that God's timing is perfect, and He has a plan for both of you. This may be a season where God has allowed things to be stripped away from you and your family. Things may be removed from your life, so that the only thing left to rely on is God.
James 1:2-4, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
We also encourage you to pray for a job that aligns with God's will for your life. Remember that God is your provider, and He knows your needs.
Matthew 6:25-34, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet about your body: what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 See the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they? 27 And which of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to his height? 28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, neither do they spin, 29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious about itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep God at the center of your marriage and to pray together with your husband. Remember that God can turn any situation around for His glory.
Romans 8:28, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister Michelle and her husband to You. Lord, we pray for their marriage, that You would strengthen their bond and help them to love each other as You have loved us. We pray for Michelle's husband, that You would provide him with a job that aligns with Your will for his life. We also pray for Michelle, that You would provide her with a better paying job that aligns with Your will for her life. Lord, we know that You are faithful, and that You will provide for all of their needs. We ask all of these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
Lastly, we noticed that your prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
If you have never placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. If you have any questions about what it means to be a Christian, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help and support you in any way that we can.
