Roshan, we join you in prayer, seeking God's forgiveness and mercy according to the scripture, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. First John 1:9. We appreciate that you have confessed your sins and acknowledge your shortcomings, especially concerning your drinking habit. We stand with you in Jesus' name, praying for your deliverance and restoration.
Firstly, we must address the issue of drinking alcohol. While the Bible does not forbid drinking alcohol, it does warn against drunkenness and the loss of self-control, which is a fruit of the Spirit according to Galatians 5:22-23. We are admonished to be sober, be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. First Peter 5:8. Therefore, we pray that God will grant you complete deliverance from this habit, not just self-control to partake occasionally. We don't want the devil to continue to have a foothold in your life. Neither give place to the devil. Ephesians 4:27.
The Bible warns us, Be not deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. First Corinthians 15:33. So, we advise you to stay away from situations, places, and people that may tempt you to drink, and instead, engage in activities that honor God and build you up spiritually and physically.
We agree with you in prayer for:
Financial provision and debt cancellation. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich. Second Corinthians 8:9.
Restoration of trust and favor at your workplace. We ask God to grant you favor and wisdom according to Proverbs 3:3-4, which says, Let not mercy and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Healing, strength, and constant presence for your mother. Isaiah 40:29 reminds us, He gives power to the faint; and to them who have no might he increases strength.
God's blessings and guidance upon your family, relatives, and friends.
Deliverance from your drinking habit and the power of self-control.
A godly spouse. If you have any prior relationships, it is good to be reminded that we do not believe in living together or courtship without marriage. Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible. Therefore, we will pray for godly spouses and marriages that honor God, and we will encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles. Remember that, a prudent wife is from Yahweh. Proverbs 19:14.
A settled life, lived according to God's purpose and timing.
We pray all these things in Jesus' name, for it is written, If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:14-15.
Finally, we encourage you to continue trusting in God's plan and timing. Seek first God's Kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. Stay strong in faith, and be not weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we do not faint. Galatians 6:9. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2.
We join you in praising God for His goodness and faithfulness, saying, Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless Yahweh, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits. Psalm 103:1-2.
