Let us come together in the name of Jesus Christ, remembering that it is only by His name that we have access to God. We can have confidence knowing that it is 'by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom we crucified, whom God raised from the dead" that we have been saved and have this opportunity to pray and receive answers from God (Acts 4:10, WEB). As we lift up this brother in Christ, let us remind him that the fear of man is a snare, but those who trust in the Lord are kept safe ( Proverbs 29:25, WEB).
Let us encourage him that there is no fear in love, for perfect love throws out fear ( 1 John~~4:18, WEB). As a believer, our lives should be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit not by the fear of others and what they will say or think about us. A wise man, actually the wisest and richest man that ever lived, King Solomon wrote that we should 'fear God and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man' Ecclesiastes 12:13, WEB). So the duty and responsibility we have, is not to fear the opinions of others, which is a thinking that is vain and worthless, but something far more important and worthwhile. So, we pray that we he instinctively and first thinks of God in awe and love and walks accordingly.
It is also important to remind him that Jesus Christ commands us to 'Have no fear of them; for nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known ( Matthew 10:26, WEB) . we should encourage him to 'not be anxious' and to trust in God and 'by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,' to bring his requests to God ( Philippians 4:6-7, WEB).
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ lifting up our brother who is bound by the fear of man and the worry of what others think of him. We hold up the cross of calvary as our banner over this situation and claim victory in the name of Christ Jesus our Savior. We have this promise that there is no condemnation, no disapproval, or shame that should control our lives. So, we are free from the fear that our brother is feeling. We pray that you identify the lies and deception that the enemy wants to control our brother with. In Jesus name we declare freedom. Lord free him in Jesus name. I bind the spirit of fear in his life in Jesus' name and declare a stronghold be demolished and destroyed in Jesus name (2 Corinthians 10:4 ), and may the fruit of the spirit which is love be developed in his life We cast our burdens on you Lord knowing that you care for us and are as concerned about this situation as we are. Amen.
Let us rebuke and remind our brother with the words of Jesus Christ when he said that 'Whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels' (Luke 9:26, WEB). Let us be conscious of the fact that we are representing God and Jesus in everything we say and do. So, let us be more concerned with what God thinks and that he is pleased with us than what others have to say or think about us.
