We join you in thanking the Lord for His goodness to you and your family. It is wonderful to see your heart of gratitude and intercession for others. Let us come together in prayer and reflection on God's Word.
Firstly, we note that prayer in alignment with God's will is powerful, as we are taught in 1 John 5:14-15, "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
We pray:
Dear Lord,
We come before You, lifting up this family and all that concerns them. We thank You for Your unfailing goodness and faithfulness. We pray for Your supernatural peace to envelop their household, and for physical healing and godly rest to cover each family member tonight and always.
Lord, we intercede for the exposure of those involved in human trafficking around the world. Let Your light shine in the darkness, revealing hidden things. We pray for Your healing and protection over those in physical bondage, and for Your rescue and restoration in their lives. Remembering Psalm 146: 6-7: "who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Yahweh frees the prisoners."
Father we also pray You will grow our trust in You, grant us Your wisdom, and bless our finances. We pray Lord for Godly Rest.
In light of portions of the request for Godly Rest and better finances, remember 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.' For we hear there are some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work and eat their own bread." A good night's sleep comes from hard work, especially if well organized. Likewise, good finances results from gainful employment.
And so again, Lord, we lift this request up to you and keep this person Welcoming to those around and their situation in prayer, reaching out to you for wisdom, patience, love, and endurance. Encourage help from your church.
We rejoice with you in Steve's good health, and we praise the Lord for His merciful kindness. May our prayers go up to heaven to God.
Since the request does not specifically pray in Jesus Name, this is a good opportunity to recall Matthew 7:21-23 which says, "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’" As well as John 14:13-14 which says, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." In other words, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" It is by believing and confessing that Jesus is Lord, that risen from the dead after dying on a cross for our sins, that we are called Children of God, are able to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, and stand before God's throne in Heaven on the final judgement day. See John 1:12-13, which says, "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." Also John 3:1-21, which says "Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see the Kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God! That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’ The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?” Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things? Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness. If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven. As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God. This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”"
