We are glad to hear that you have reconnected with your mother and that her prayers for you have been a blessing in your life. It is a powerful testimony to the love and faithfulness of a parent, and we commend her for her steadfastness in interceding for you. Let us remember the words of the WEB, "Don't be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6
We also want to address the sin you mentioned, and we appreciate your honesty in bringing this to light. We want to remind you of God's goodness in sending Jesus Christ to pay the price of our sins.
Please remember the words of Jesus Christ when we come to Him in prayer.
"Jesus said to him, "'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6
Remember also the teaching of Jesus.
"He answered, 'Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh? 6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.' " Matthew 19:4-6
But the one who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Sexual immorality is strictly forbidden by God. "Run from sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man can commit is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18
"Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." Genesis 2:24(WEB) Notice, this says wife, not a partner. We should be looking for a husband or wife which is of the opposite sex. The Bible refers to homosexual sex as an "abomination." Leviticus 18:22 (WEB)
The eyes are a lens to the soul, and what we watch can greatly impact our spiritual well-being. "But I tell you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." Matthew 5:28 This does not mean a man can not look at a woman, but rather a man or woman should never look at a person in the opposite sex who is not their wife with lust. Notice again, his wife, not their partner. The Bible teaches for us to find spouses and live marriages that please God, and not have multiple sexual partners with the opposite sex regardless of their marital state.
The Bible teaches us that, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 Therefore, the answer is to humbly repent and flee from evil. Remember, "Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 We are bought with the blood of Jesus.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother Likmeksos in prayer. Thank You for the restoration of his relationship with his mother and the power of her prayers in his life. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sin he has confessed, You have promised us forgiveness if we confess so we boldly ask this but also deliverance from it. Please help Likmeksos overcome the struggles and temptations he faces and continues to grow in You. Guide him as he walks the path of Christian Believers and give daily strength and guidance. We believe only Jesus Christ can offer the hope and healing needed. Please give him softened heart and open ears to Your precepts.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
May the Lord strengthen you as you continue to grow in Him. Keep your focus on His promises, for "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
