We join you, Roshan, in lifting up your prayers to our Heavenly Father, who is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). It is wonderful that you come in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Firstly, let us address the issue of debt. God cares about your needs and He is the provider (Matthew 6:25-34 WEB). Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. This is especially true when aligned with God's will and not for selfish pleasures that keep us from Him (James 4:3). 2 Corinthians 9:8 (WEB) says, "God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may abound to every good work." Because you have harassment and worry try to avoid any sin or vices in this situation, stay faithful to the discipline of the Lord. Having debt is not an ideal state for anybody. Some people in the Bible were in debt with money due to situations they could not control, but it should not be a lifestyle (Leviticus 25:35-37, Deuteronomy 15:1-2 WEB). It was also hard on them. Let us pray for God's provision and wisdom to manage your finances.
We also lift up your mother to the Lord, trusting in His healing power and grace. We pray for her strength and comfort, asking God to be with her always (Psalm 46:1 WEB). You mentioned praying for spouse. 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB) says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" Because it is important to marry a fellow Christian in a biblical marriage. We pray for a godly spouse for you, someone who shares your faith and commitment to Christ.
We also pray your prayer about wanting help quitting drinking except occasionally. While the Bible does not explicitly forbid drinking alcohol, it warns us to not be drunk. Maintaining self-control and not being addicted to any substance (I Corinthians 6:12 WEB) is important. We encourage you to consider total abstinence, as alcohol can lead to loss of self-control and other sins. Proverbs 23:20-21 (WEB) says, "Don’t be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags."
Do not simply cutdown or give up some of your sin, but flee from it, including possibly having any amount of alcohol. Understand that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and belong to God (I Corinthians 6:19-20). God is faithful and will help you overcome. We also pray that God will help you to overcome temptations and distractions in your walk.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Roshan and his family. Lord, forgive his sins and strengthen his faith. Provide for his needs according to Your will and help him manage his finances wisely. Heal his mother and be her strength and comfort. Guide Roshan to a godly spouse who will support his spiritual life. Help him to overcome his struggle with alcohol and to live a life free from addiction and full of self-control. Keep him focused on You and Your will for his life.
We also pray we will all glorify the Lord, be faithful to the truth, that it is only in the Name of Jesus Christ we can approach the throne of grace, and faith in Jesus is the only way to be saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
