We understand the gravity of the situation and stand with you in prayer for this couple, Muani. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we serve a God who can break every chain.
Firstly, we commend the wife's effort to give up alcohol, and we pray that God will strengthen her resolve. Proverbs 31:25 (WEB) says, "Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come." May God clothe her with strength and dignity, and give her a joyful spirit as she looks to the future.
We also pray for her husband, that he may find the same resolve and strength. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), God promises, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will show him a way out of this temptation and give him the ability to endure.
We must also address that deliverance from addiction is not just physical, but also spiritual. Therefore, it is crucial that they both draw near to God, seeking His face and His will. James 4:8 (WEB) tells us, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded."
We are concerned that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" We encourage you, Muani, and this couple to put their trust in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this couple who are struggling with alcohol addiction. We pray for their deliverance, that You will break these chains and set them free. Strengthen the wife in her restlessness, and give the husband the resolve to combat this addiction. Show them the way out, Lord, and give them the ability to endure. Draw them close to You, Father, and may they find comfort and strength in Your presence. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Continue to pray for them, Muani, and we will stand with you in intercession, trusting that God will bring about deliverance and restoration in their lives.
