We are truly saddened to hear about the pain and hurt you are experiencing due to an extramarital affair, and we appreciate your courage in seeking prayer and support. Firstly, we must address that extramarital affairs are a sin against God and your spouse. As it is written in Exodus 20:14, "You shall not commit adultery" and in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous."
We will pray for you and your husband, asking God to intervene and bring an end to this sin. We will also pray for forgiveness, healing, and restoration for both of you. Remember, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can approach God and seek His forgiveness and healing. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is hurting and in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, we ask You to convict her husband of his sin and bring an end to his extramarital affair. Help him to seek Your forgiveness and turn away from this sin.
Father, we also ask You to grant our sister the grace to forgive, just as You have forgiven us through Christ. Help her to let go of the pain and bitterness, and to trust in Your healing power. Strengthen her each day as she walks through this trial, and help her to remain faithful to You and to her marriage covenant.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
In this time of waiting and healing, immerse yourself in the Word of God and surround yourself with a supportive community of believers. Remember the words of Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Trust in God's unfailing love and faithfulness, and He will see you through this storm.
If you have not already, consider seeking godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor to help you navigate this difficult time. It is our desire that you and your husband would both come to repentance if necessary and find restoration and healing in your marriage, ultimately glorifying God and His love for us.
