We are blessed to join with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your life and family. We praise God for your heart's desire to love and cherish your wife and children, and to grow in Christlikeness daily.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this husband and father who desires to love his wife and children as You intend. Lord, we know that it is Your will for husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). Help him to see his wife through Your eyes, growing in love and affection for her each day. Give him the strength and wisdom to lead his family, loving and valuing them as You do.
God, we know that children are a gift from You (Psalm 127:3 WEB). Bless the children in this family, and help this husband and father to raise them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4 WEB). Guide him to be a better man, husband, and father each day, growing in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lord, we know that Your will is for this family to be united in Heaven with You. Guide them in their daily lives, helping them to live lives that are pleasing to You. Help them to hold fast to the promise that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved (John 3:16 WEB, Acts 4:12 WEB).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You bless this man's desire for intimacy with his wife (1 Corinthians 7:3-5 WEB). Help him to express his love for her in a way that is pure, loving, and honoring to You. Help him to see that true intimacy comes from a heart of love, commitment, and faithfulness.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to strive for holiness, growing in your love for God and your family. Remember that true love is patient, kind, and always seeks the best for the other person (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB).
We rejoice with you, knowing that God hears our prayers when we ask according to His will (1 John 5:14-15 WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will guide you and your family each step of the way.
We rebuke an over-focus on the sexual relations. Sexual relations should be an expression of love, not an idol in and of itself. As it is written in Galatians 5:16-26 WEB, But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. ... Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
