We understand your concern for your son Reuben Reji and the challenges he is facing. Let's bring this situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and intervention.
Firstly, it's crucial to remember the power of Jesus' name and the importance of praying in His name. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Also, in Acts 4:12 WEB: There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Let's ensure Reuben understands this and encourage him to put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
In this situation, Reuben may be struggling with feelings of failure and shame, which are not from God. In Zephaniah 3:17 WEB: Yahweh your God is in the midst of you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing, the Lord delights in our coming to Him. Reuben should know that this is where his identity should be found. If Reuben is feeling ashamed it is important to note 1 John 1:9 WEB But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. It is only in Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father and it is only by Jesus' work on the cross that our sins are forgiven. First, we must accept that work and strive to sin no more, but if we do sin then confess it.
Regarding his education, it's important to remind Reuben of the biblical principles of diligence and perseverance. In Colossians 3:23 WEB: Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, we are called to give our best in all we do, as if working for the Lord Himself. Reuben should be encouraged to complete his education unless there is a moral issue at the college and be reminded of Ecclesiastes 7:8 WEB Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Reuben Reji. Lord, You know the struggles he is facing, the feelings of failure and shame that have overwhelmed him. We pray that You would comfort him and remind him of his true identity in You. Help him to understand and accept the forgiveness you offer and fill His softened heart full of your Holy Spirit to convict him when he sins so he is able to repent & restore his fellowship with you.
Lord, give Reuben the strength and wisdom to persevere in his studies. Help him to see the value of completing his education and guide him in making wise decisions about his future. We ask that You would surround him with godly influences and protect him from any negative atmosphere. If the college does not provide a moral safe environment and that is the issue, then we pray you open his heart and mind to discuss that. In either case, help him to find positive solutions without being overcome with depression.
Father, we also pray for Reuben's parents. Give them the wisdom to guide their son and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your sovereignty and goodness, even in this challenging time.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to encourage Reuben to seek the Lord and trust in His goodness. Remind him that God has a purpose and plan for his life, and that He can feel safe in Jesus' love in better the end of his education than the beginning thereof. Encourage him to discuss each prayer request using Jesus name and keep his thoughts in line with Biblical principles. We know that depression can be serious, if you see self harm or persistent thoughts of hopelessness and/or self harm, do not delay and seek help immediately.
