We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your family is facing due to your father's alcoholism. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's address the issue of alcoholism in the Bible. Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB says, Be not among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat, for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags. Ephesians 5:18 WEB tells us, Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
Your father's behavior is not only harmful to him but also to your family and the community. His actions are a clear violation of the biblical principle of loving and caring for one's family as outlined in 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB, But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
We will pray for your father's deliverance from alcoholism and for the peace and well-being of your family. We will end this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we can be saved and it is only by His name that we can have access to God.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this family to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in the life of this man, that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism. Give him the strength to overcome this addiction and to walk in Your ways.
We also pray for the family, that You would provide them with peace, comfort, and guidance during this difficult time. Help them to love and support each other, and to trust in Your faithfulness.
We pray for the salvation of this man that he would come to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We pray for the salvation of his whole household. We further pray that their hearts would be open to the Gospel message. We pray for conviction of sin, repentance, and faith toward Jesus Christ.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your father and your family. Remember, God is faithful, and He hears the cries of His children. Trust in Him, and He will make a way.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to share the Gospel message with your father. This will be the surest way to everlasting victory.
Also, we want to rebuke and correct your family for moving from house to house instead of addressing the issue. This will not solve any problem but may even result in financial ruin. We encourage you to consider counseling to address the underlying issues in your father's life. This is a part of God's plan.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB says, Don't you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God's Kingdom? Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God's Kingdom. We encourage you to consider this list of unrighteous people who will not inherit God's Kingdom and warn your father of the consequences of his actions. We encourage you to speak to him directly and to read this list of offenses to him. Be sure he understands how God feels about his behavior.
