We are truly saddened to hear about the situation with Sarah, and we appreciate your heartfelt request for prayer support, Geoff. It's commendable that you have forgiven her and are focused on her spiritual well-being. We will pray and provide counsel based on the principles laid out in God's Word.
Firstly, it's crucial to understand that Sarah's actions are not in line with biblical principles. The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality and that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters only do not let your freedom become an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in the law of Christ Jesus. But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you do not consume one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will in no way fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you desire. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the deeds of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.Galatians 5:13-23 WEB.
Moreover, the Bible warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB. Sarah's involvement with a non-Christian man who has led her back into a lifestyle of sin is a clear example of being unequally yoked.
Let's pray for Sarah:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Sarah to You. Lord, we plead for Your mercy and grace upon her life. We pray that You would convict her heart and draw her back to You. Break every wrong soul-tie that has been established in her life, and set her free from the enemy's trap. Help her to understand her identity in Christ, the power of the Cross, and the freedom it offers. Empower her to overcome spiritual attacks. Help her to understand and repent of any sinful relationship which she may be in. Restore her relationship with you first and foremost, and give her strength to maintain purity and righteousness.
Lord, we also pray for Geoff. We ask that You would heal his heart and continue to give him the strength to forgive and love as Christ does. Help him to be a light to Sarah and others, guided by Your wisdom and discernment. We pray that if it is Your will, You would restore their relationship and guide them towards a godly marriage.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Geoff, continue to trust in the Lord and lean on Him for strength. Remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB. He is working even in this situation for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 WEB.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying and trusting in the Lord. Be alert and sober-minded. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.1 Peter 5:8. Always remember the the only way we have access to God is through the name of Jesus. "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6. "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!”Acts 4:12.
Stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong.1 Corinthians 16:13.
