We are truly saddened to hear about the difficult situation your friend is facing. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's will for her life.
Firstly, we want to remind her of God's unfailing love and care for her, as mentioned in Psalm 34:18 (WEB), "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." No matter how difficult the situation, God is always near to comfort and guide her.
However, we must also address that divorce is not God's ideal will for marriage. In Malachi 2:16 (WEB), it is written, " 'For I hate divorce,' says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously.'" While we understand that your friend is in a difficult and abusive situation, we encourage her to seek godly counsel and explore every possibility of reconciliation, while ensuring her safety and well-being.
That being said, we understand that there are times when divorce is necessary due to unrepentant sin and abuse. In such cases, it is important to handle the process with integrity and fairness. We pray that the truth will be revealed and that your friend will receive what is rightfully hers. Proverbs 22:22-23 (WEB) says, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up our sister in Christ who is going through a difficult divorce. We pray that You will comfort her heart and guide her through this process. Lord, we ask that You will reveal the truth and bring to light any hidden things. We pray that Your justice will prevail and that she will receive her fair share. Lord, we also pray for her soon-to-be ex-husband, that You will convict his heart and bring him to repentance. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage your friend to keep her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God's presence and power. As it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We pray that she will continue to seek Jesus in this difficult time and that she will find peace and strength in His presence.
