We understand that you are deeply concerned about your elder brother John Mwanza, who has been struggling with addiction, theft, violence, and verbal abuse, which have led to multiple encounters with the law and the breakdown of his relationships with the mothers of his children. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God can deliver John from these chains of bondage and bring a transformation to his life where he learns to worship the Lord.
Firstly, it is important to acknowledge that the behavior described is not aligned with biblical principles. The Bible tells us in Romans 13:13-14, Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things which they do in secret. Galatians 5:19-21 urges us to avoid drunkenness, reveling, and other such things. Theft too is a clear violation of God's law in Exodus 20:15.
Let us pray together for John's deliverance and salvation:
Father, we come before you as a family seeking your intervention in John's life. We believe that you have the power to break every chain of addiction, violence, and sin that has held him captive. We rebuke the enemy’s hold on his life and declare that John is freed from these bondages in Jesus Christ's name The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:28 NHe that stole let him steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him that has need., so we pray for a transformation in John's life where he turns away from theft and violence and begins to work honestly and diligently.
We also pray for John's salvation. We ask that you soften his heart and open his eyes to the truth of the gospel. May he come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and experience the forgiveness and redemption that only you can offer. The Bible tells us in John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Lord, we ask that you heal the broken relationships in John's life, especially with the mothers of his children.
Father, we seek Your help. May he be surrounded by caring Christlike individuals to be a positive influence. Help and guide them to understand John's behavior is related to his alcohol addiction. May they forgive him and reach out to John in kindness and compassion in the strength of the Holy Spirit.. Guide John to pursue godly relationships or marriage rather a worldly courtship. Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Hebrews 13:14. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Lord. We pray.
We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for John, praying fervently and believing God for his deliverance and salvation. We are reminded in James 5:16 of the power of prayer: Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
Remember that God is faithful, and He is able to bring about a complete turnaround in John's life. Trust in Him and continue to intercede for your brother.
