We understand your concern and heartache, and we join you in lifting up your children and your son's girlfriend to the Lord in prayer. Addiction is a powerful stronghold, but we serve a God who can break every chain and set the captives free.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to stand firm in your faith, for God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20, WEB).
We must also remember that deliverance from addiction is not only a physical battle but also a spiritual one. Therefore, we pray that your children and your son's girlfriend would submit themselves to God. As it is written, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7, WEB).
Let us pray:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You today, lifting up these precious souls to You. Lord, You know the struggles they face, the addictions that have taken hold of their lives. We ask, Lord, that You would set them free, break the chains of addiction, and help them to walk in newness of life.
Lord, we pray for their hearts, that they would turn to You, submit their lives to You, and allow You to transform them from the inside out. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and help them to resist the devil and all his temptations.
Lord, we also lift up this parent, who carries such a heavy burden for their children. Strengthen them, Lord, encourage their heart, and help them to trust in You with all their heart and lean not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, WEB). It is in His name that we pray and intercede for others, and it is through His name that we are saved. If you or your loved ones have not yet accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (Acts 16:31, WEB).
