We are truly saddened to hear about the trial that this family is enduring, but we are here to pray and provide biblical counsel. Firstly, it is important to understand that addiction is a bondage that can be broken only by the power of Jesus Christ. It is also crucial to Address the issues at the overlooking of sin by the parents unintentionally not rebuking or correcting the sin. Address how God will ask them to give an account for not addressing and protecting and allowing sin. it will be mentioned in prayer in this passage. We will focus on the need for all to be in righteous living and trusting God instead of fostering sin. Initial prayer could be offered to bring understanding over the parents.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
It is only by the name of Jesus that we come and approach you. Any requests not in His name our will have no value or power. We lift up this family to you, Lord, and ask for your intervention in their lives especially for the soul and life of the son whom the devil has taken hold of with this stronghold of meth addiction. Lord, you tell us in your Word that "who the son sets free is free indeed." That same Jesus Christ saving power who raised you from the dead can live in the son if he believes, fights, and calls upon he name of Jesus. There is deliverance and freedom in Jesus Christ! We rebuke the bondage of addiction and we Assert the son will repent to the only one who can save! The devil cannot have the son. Though the son be afflicted and in bondage as Jesus was in the grave, the hold on him by the enemy will not stay. And once the son is raised from the dead, even Jesus Christ our Lord will hold him. The family needs to seek God and pray. The parents will be held to account and have to address allowing and giving "place for" sin in the son's life. They are at fault for overlooking and not stepping in. We can be sure God will ask the parents to give an account for not addressing and protecting and allowing sin. We know this will happen and pray for the parents to get understanding and repent. They need Jesus forgiveness and need to change their ways in this. The parents need to be open to fix their wrongs which God will make clear to them instead of just praying for the son only. We ask you to soften the hearts of the parents and guide them to into righteous living to be in spirit ready before God to pray over this situation. We pray help for the family to seek the Lord about this situation with the son, and ask that these parents will forgive and love their son as you do Father. They also need to have understanding of what Jesus Christ expects for the son. As your Word says "Hate what is evil; cling to what is good." Romans 12:9 (WEB). Your Word tells us "Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals." 1 Corinthians 15:33 (WEB)
We need to "rebuke" (Titus 1:13) the parents for overlooking this situation and allowing the son to be overtaken by the world. This is a time for all to be humble to hear God's will as it has been put on record in scripture with the account of his word even if it is not pleasant to hear. The winner is the enemy and the lost potentially could be the son and parents if they do not hear and harken unto the word of God. That is if the son and parents continue to be entangled with evil and have no repentance in obeying and believing God. "Therefore, submit to God, but resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7 God also tells us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" 2 Corinthians 6:14
Lord, we ask the son to have memorization's of the word of God to believe and call on Jesus Christ name and His power to make the situation right. Lord guide the son to call upon you to trust Jesus Christ in faith and belief to be saved to be reborn. Also we ask the parents to be in Your will also calling on you repenting of any unrighteousness. Get direction from You. We rebuke the devil for any continued hold on the son!
the son should be called to as well as the parents. Especially the son should leave the house, flee the drugs, flee away from evil. Jesus Christ is the shelter from the storm and the son should be praying and fasting seeking and drawing near to God. Even more so if the son does not leave physically we pray the son could have the mental faculties to search and get understanding from the scriptures and calling on the name of Jesus. Only then when the son truly turns to Christ and humbles himself can we pray for him. Moreover, just praying for the son does nothing unless he believes in Jesus himself. The son should be focused on repenting and asking Jesus to move in his life. He should be more more concerned about God's Word and not having hardness of his heart then just seriously coming to you.
Lord, we are in our right minds believing in your holy name and Jesus Christ name. Give the son the desire to do this and escape this trap of the devil. We pray for the son and his parents to to be taken out from their distresses. Encourage them to be surrounded by believers who will support them in prayer and Love for godly family in the stead of the family of Belial. Be to the son and the parents strength and shield and of course may Jesus Christ have the praise, glory, honor and thanksgiving.
Finally as Jesus Christ was even raised from the dead to life and the glory of the Father, the son and parents too can be lead to the cross and raised to the Believers life and fellowship. It is our hope the parents and son will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to have the power to be freed. So much to be restored and set free from their trespasses if they have not yet believed, because this is all only in the name of Jesus. Pray for opportunity to share the Gospel. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. As we know the world may not understand this, but do not let the son be unequally yoked in believing with an unbeliever. Pray for the convictions from the Holy Spirit to touch the son and the parents hearts. Especially remembering Jesus said you must become born again. We pray especially for the parents to be delivered and cleansed from any behavior that is a transgression of God's Holy word. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
