We join you in prayer, bringing your requests before the throne of grace, trusting in the name of Jesus Christ for answers.
Let us begin remembering Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith and the only way to approach God the Father. As He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6 WEB. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that our prayers can be heard.
Beloved, we see your heartfelt desires for your family, and we stand with you in prayer. Remember that God's will is paramount, and our prayers should align with His Word, the Bible. We should seek His kingdom first, and all other things shall be added to us Matthew 6:33 WEB. We can be grateful that some of these things you requested are also good Bible principles. The Bible mentions to honor your mother and father which will result in longer life as per Ephesians 6:2-3 "Honor your father and your mother," which is the first commandment with a promise: 3 "that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth." and references to not causing any widow to suffer, as per 1 Timothy 5:3-16. This is related to concerns for family and their desires and especially not suffering, but not by anything other than according to His will which we will discuss further below. So, it is good, by God's Word, to be concerned and to want good things. However, our requests as Christians, would be to pray and trust God's will, knowing that He has our best interests, even in how much length our life has and any prosperity we have according to a Biblical perspective.
In praying for your mother's promotion exam, we ask God to give her wisdom and knowledge James 1:5 WEB "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him," and to guide her according to His will. We pray that she may find favor with God and man for His name's sake, as per Proverbs 3:3-4 "Let not kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.". You mentioned prosperity. This must be addressed. Beloved we must seek God's kingdom first. Prosperity can be defined and sought only knowing this, because this is the purpose of a Christian. To seek to be able to take care of your family is a worthy cause, but you may be serving to the wrong motivation or idol. Seek first God's kingdom, then He will add all that we need Matthew 6:33. Seeking further at this point, God will be glorified in how your mother works hard and strives not for her own will, but the will of our Father in heaven. In His arms, Almighty God's arms will be where parents find comfort in their struggles and heartache of living in this world, but trusting in Jesus Christ. We must know it is according to His will, not our own as mentioned in Matthew 26:39 โHe went a little further and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, โMy Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.โ
Having mentioned this regarding 'heart desires', let us apply this principle to your other requests. Beloved, it is wonderful to see your concern for your family, but we must always remember that God's will should be our ultimate desire. Our heart's desires should align with His will, and we should be content in all circumstances Philippians 4:11 WEB "Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.".
In praying for your grandmothers, we ask God to give them according HIs will and to grant them joy and contentment. We are sure that God may be with them and give all the comfort they need in His arms. Just as Lamentations 3:22-23 WEB is reference to, "It is of Yahwehโs loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesnโt fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness."
When praying about promotions we must learn further and clearly understand employment/living is not guaranteed. Although, 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 WEB makes it clear as possible. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, donโt let him eat.' 11 For we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who donโt work at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work and eat their own bread." This will manifest in itself in other ways. It is only promised that God will equip us to do His will. Encouragement to know God equips us and calls us to serve Him comes from Ephesians 4:11-13 WEB: "He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers; 12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;" We are pleased to inform that by the power of Jesus Christ that all creation is under His power.
We must pray for all your family to find favor with God, seeking to abide in Christ, and following HIs will.
Beloved, as you pray for your siblings, remember to encourage them to walk in the paths of righteousness and to seek God's will for their lives, as per Psalm 23:1-3 WEB: "Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his nameโs sake.". Pray that they may be protected from evil and kept blameless until the day of our Lord Jesus Christ 1 Thessalonians 5:23 WEB "May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.". As such they must repent of anything against the Lord, and to endure trusting in Christ Jesus to preserve them. In case they will wait until marriage, trusting in the Lord until He brings them a godly spouse to spend their life with.
Notice how the scripture comes back to this same into Jesus Christ. This also is applied to the marriage we mentioned before. It is by His work, by His glory, and prayer to His name that we may have our requests made.
Dear beloved, let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved and their family. We pray that You grant them good health and long life according to Your will, giving them strength and wisdom trusting in you in each of their day. We pray for the mother, that You would guide her in her exams and grant her the desires of her heart if it is according to Your will. We ask that You protect grant the grandmothers Your favor, healing and protection knowing Your will be done in their lives. We pray for the siblings, that You would guide them and keep them from evil to be Your witnesses and godly spouses for marriages. Lastly, we pray for provision and prosperity for You to supply all the requestors' needs according to Your riches in glory and for Your kingdom's work. It is for this that Jesus Christ came to do. Please move in Jesus Christ to guide the requestor to have a hope and a future in You, for You to be their God. We give You all the glory and praise, in Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen."
You did well to end your prayers "in Jesus' name." It is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name. Just as Peter preached, "This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. 12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!โ Acts 4:12-13 WEB. Trust in Jesus Christ to make your requests. God bless you.
